For schools

Home and school, speaking one language.

The gaps your TK and K teachers are reporting are developmental, not academic. You cannot teach your way out of a missing condition. Family engagement is part of the readiness plan, and it deserves the same rigor as the reading plan.

Room to Thrive

How young children take on independence, and the two adult moves most of us skip. For TK and K staff as a half-day professional learning session, aligned to your PBIS, MTSS, and SEL work. For families as a 60-minute evening session, so home and classroom ask for independence the same way.

Half day for staff · 60 minutes for families

Families always attend free. School sessions are supported by district or Title I family engagement funds.

Who is behind it

A practitioner, not a consultant.

Dr. Keri Montesino Stewart is a Ph.D. school psychologist and a practicing elementary principal, with fifteen-plus years as a teacher, school psychologist, instructional coach, assistant principal, and principal.

Human ROOTS grew from inside that work. It is grounded in Triple P, HOT DOCS, PCIT, and school-wide PBIS, and in leading schools that serve children who have been historically underserved. It holds up in real classrooms and real homes because it was made there.

The stance

Culture is the condition. Rigor is what flourishes in it.

Identity, joy, and belonging are not soft skills. They are the neurological and relational preconditions for learning. Regulation comes before expectation, and equity lives in the schedule, not the mission statement.

Tell me about your school and the year you are in.

A short email is enough to start. We will find thirty minutes to talk about what your TK and K families and staff need.
